The Thrive Approach
The Thrive Approach is a methodical application used to support children in meeting their own emotional needs, as well as equipping them with the tools to maintain positive mental health and wellbeing. Based on neuroscientific evidence, the Thrive approach is backed up with research from child development, learning theory and attachment.
At South Stanley Junior School, we use a Thrive whole class approach to enable all children to reach their ‘right-time’ development, through specific strategies and activities. This ensures they develop key social and emotional skills at the expected stage in their lives. In turn, this strengthens their resilience, assisting their engagement so they can achieve maximum potential in their learning. Through class profiling, some children are identified to gain more from 1:1 and small group sessions with a licensed Thrive practitioner.
Our Thrive practitioners in school are Mrs James and Mrs Stephenson. Please feel free to contact them for more information via our school office.
